Award-Winning Illustrator Roger Mello Visits Simmons

Brazilian illustrator Roger Mello visited the Simmons campus on October 8 for a presentation in Professor Cathryn Mercier’s Picturebook class. Mello, who gave the Sweetser Lecture in July, is the first Latin American creator to win the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the highest international recognition given to an author and an illustrator of children's books. While in Massachusetts, Mello visited the Eric Carle Museum to see the first U.S. exhibition of his art.
