SLIS Alumni Appointed President-Elect of Society of American Archivists

Archivist Derek Mosley

This month, Derek Mosley ’11MS was elected Vice President/President-Elect of the Society of American Archivists (SAA). His term as vice president will begin this August; his term as SAA’s 80th president will begin next year.

Mosley has been featured in Simmons News before, most recently for being named a 2024 Mover & Shaker by Library Journal. Last year, Mosley was selected as an SAA Fellow for his efforts to preserve and archive local African American history as part of his work at the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History in Atlanta, Georgia.
