Steven Lipiner, Financial Executive and Simmons Parent, Joins Simmons University Board of Trustees

The Simmons University Board of Trustees has named Steven Lipiner P’17,’19 as its newest member. He brings to his trustee role extensive global experience as a financial executive as well as the perspective of a parent of two Simmons graduates: Kelsey Lipiner ’17 and Taryn Lipiner ’19.

Over a 35-year career, Lipiner has held a number of senior executive roles in the banking and asset management industries in New York, London, and Boston. At State Street Global Advisors, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer, and as chief financial officer. He has a proven history of managing global finance teams driving strategic growth initiatives as well as leading business transformations that result in productivity enhancements and expense efficiencies.

Lipiner's service to not-for-profit and professional organizations includes being a board member for The Dimock Center and RIZE Massachusetts. Lipiner is also on the board of trustees for the Baruch College Fund. And his higher-education experience extends to the classroom: He has been a guest lecturer at Brandeis University and Baruch College, and he is now an adjunct lecturer at Boston University teaching graduate-level corporate finance courses.

Lipiner holds a BA in political science from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and an MBA in finance from the City University at New York, Baruch College.
