Dr. Anu Puri has extensive experience in healthcare finance, data analysis, and policy, and serves as Chief Data Officer at the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association, overseeing data analytics projects and working with a wide variety of stakeholders on a range of financial, operational, clinical, policy, and advocacy issues in support of hospital leadership priorities. Her expertise encompasses healthcare utilization, cost, workforce, reimbursement, and performance trends; payment and delivery system reform at the both the federal and state level; and quality-based payment reform initiatives. During the pandemic, she led a team working in partnership with hospitals, the Massachusetts state COVID Command Center and the Department of Public Health on COVID data reporting, capacity analysis and pandemic projections, resurgence planning and regional coordination, with the goal of optimizing healthcare industry resources. She continues to work with stakeholders on issues impacting healthcare system capacity and preparedness. She has been teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in healthcare policy, payment systems, insurance, managed care, public health, and finance at local institutions for a number of years.
