Ashley Delaunois lives and works in Terre Haute, Indiana. She has been practicing as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for four years. Before becoming a psychiatric NP, she worked as a RN in a level 1 trauma ER in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She has worked in community mental health, inpatient, outpatient, pain management, and serves as the only PMHNP-BC in the state of Indiana within our Work Release/Dual Diagnosis facility. She feels she has the best job in the world. She began teaching clinical for Indiana State University roughly two years ago which led to her online adjunct teaching role with Simmons University. She enjoys being able to expose new nurses to mental health nursing. Her goal is to spark interest in the field and ensure the students understand that regardless of what area of nursing they choose to work after graduation, mental health will be weaved into every area of healthcare they encounter.
In her free time, she enjoy watching her sons participate in sports, including cross country, tennis, baseball, and basketball. She also enjoys reading and has begun hiking/backpacking with her most recent trip being to Washington state.
