Ben Kenzer

Instructional Design Specialist

Benjamin "Ben" Kenzer is an instructional designer with extensive experience building courses across departments and modalities. He is passionate about designing courses that are engaging, accessible, and inclusive. As part of the day-to-day work of instructional design, Kenzer supports faculty video recordings both in the Alden Trust studio and across the Simmons University campus.

Prior to his current role, Kenzer worked as an instructional designer at the Ohio State Online (OSO) office at Ohio State University, where he led faculty-ID developments across 15 different departments. As part of this role, he managed data and reporting for the OSO team, and helped design the General Education (GE) Online Bookends courses that 700+ OSU students take annually.

Ben received his PhD in International Relations in 2021 from Ohio State University, where he taught both in-person and online courses on data visualization, US foreign policy, and Critical Security Studies for many years.
