Delmy Piano

Assistant Professor of Practice and Assistant Director of the Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program

Delmy Piano, RN, BSN, joined the Department of Nursing at Simmons University as the Assistant Director of the Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program. A proud Simmons alumna, Piano earned her BSN from the university in 2017 and was a Dotson Scholar throughout her academic journey. The Dotson Program was instrumental in shaping her career, providing the essential support and confidence that empowered her to excel as a registered nurse of color.

Piano brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having worked across various nursing settings, including adult medical-surgical care, pediatric care, and infusion oncology. Her diverse clinical background equips her with a broad perspective on patient care and nursing practice.

Motivated by the profound impact the Dotson Program had on her own professional development and driven by a desire to give back, Piano is enthusiastic about returning to Simmons. She looks forward to supporting and mentoring the next generation of nurses of color, helping them achieve their own career aspirations and making a difference in the field of nursing.
