Dolores Wolongevicz

Associate Professor of Practice and Director of the Health Professions Education Program

Dr. Dolores Wolongevicz is Associate Professor of Practice in Public Health and the Director of the Health Professions Education Program. Her most recent degree is a PhD in medical nutrition sciences, from Boston University School of Medicine. She is a registered dietitian and a licensed dietitian/nutritionist. She teaches community-based research and Health Equity Project courses in the MPH program, helping graduate students with their final major project for the program. Her areas of expertise include research design, statistical methods, nutritional epidemiology and health professions education. Her research interests align with her expertise and focuses on technology-driven lifestyle tools and interventions to enhance prevention and treatment of non-communicable chronic diseases in adults, particularly among veterans, as well as unraveling the complex relationship between the social determinants of health and obesity and cardiovascular disease to identify sensible interventions and policy changes to improve health outcomes at the individual and population level.

Dr. Wolongevicz is also co-chair of the Simmons University IRB.
