An accomplished fine art photographer and imaging specialist, James Gehrt is the Digital Projects Lead at Mount Holyoke College Library. He has been awarded a 2009 and 2010 NITLE Technology Fellow, concentrating on new digitization technologies. In LIS 471 Photographic Archives and Visual Information, he teaches the problems of meaning, context, and definition of using photographs as visual information, as well as the responsibilities of a photo archivist and onsite examination of management practices in a variety of institutions.
