Kaylee Burke is a family nurse practitioner from Providence, Rhode Island. Professor Burke earned a Bachelors of Arts in English from Fordham University before pursuing a nursing career. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Simmons University in 2011 and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in 2018. Professor Burke has a strong background in emergency nursing and currently practices in the pediatric primary care setting.
Professor Burke is licensed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is also credentialed by the Board of Certification in Emergency Nursing, and as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist by the Pediatric Nurse Certification Board.
Professor Burke has been teaching at Simmons since 2021. She serves as the course lead for FNP II Primary Care Nursing, and has experience teaching FNP III Primary Care Nursing, Advanced Health Assessment, and Healthcare Informatics. She works with both online and on-campus graduate students. Professor Burke thoroughly enjoys her role as the simulation coordinator for the Nursing@Simmons immersion weekend.
Professionally, Professor Burke has special interests in holistic/integrative healthcare, mental health promotion, and nurses’ rights. Personally, she is a lover of animals, poetry, running, yoga, and winter sports… A Cape Cod native, she enjoys visiting her hometown and spending time with family.
