Laura Behm, DNP, CRNP, FNP, PMHNP, IBCLC, PMH-C, is a dual-certified Nurse Practitioner with board certifications as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She holds licensure in Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida and is dedicated to supporting students in their journey to provide compassionate, holistic care to individuals and families.
Dr. Behm’s clinical expertise includes emergency medicine, pediatrics, neurology, lactation, and mental health care. Her current work focuses on the perinatal population, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive support during this pivotal phase of life. Dr. Behm co-owns a multidisciplinary practice that integrates lactation, women’s health, and perinatal mental health services, specializing in the unique needs of pregnant and postpartum individuals. As a practicing clinician, she combines evidence-based care with a patient-centered approach, empowering her clients to achieve improved health and wellness.
Dr. Behm has over a decade of teaching experience and began teaching for Simmons in 2015 in the PMHNP, FNP, and DNP programs. She is passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to grow into confident, capable clinicians. Dr. Behm believes that education serves as the foundation for both students and their future patients, fostering meaningful connections and improving outcomes in healthcare.
When she’s not working, Dr. Behm loves spending time with her children and exploring new destinations through travel. She thrives on creating memorable experiences and embracing life’s adventures.
