Olivia Montgomery
Associate Professor of Practice and Onground MSW Practicum Education Specialist
Olivia Montgomery MSW, LICSW (she/they) is a Practicum Education Specialist and Associate Professor of Practice at Simmons University School of Social Work. Montgomery’s primary expertise is in Fat Liberation and Health-At-Every-Size frameworks, working to eliminate body size discrimination in a variety of systems. They are an educator, public speaker, and leader in the field of Body Liberation.
Prior to joining the Simmons faculty, Montgomery has extensive practice, supervisory, and teaching expertise across clinical settings, including medical hospitals, psychiatric facilities, outpatient clinics, schools, private practice, and suicide prevention organizations. They have substantial experience providing trauma-focused treatment and clinical PTSD protocols to veterans and active service members, sexual trauma survivors, and survivors of suicide. Montgomery is also a trained Psychological Autopsy Investigator, certified via the American Association of Suicidology. They received their MSW from Simmons University, and their BS from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
