Rebekah Gibbons, LICSW began as an Adjunct Professor at Simmons in 2021 and, currently serves as an Associate Professor of Practice and co-lead for the MSW trauma certificate.
Gibbons has extensive experience with adolescents, families, and adults, having worked in community mental health as an outpatient clinician and as an in-home family therapist, as well as a clinician and clinical director at a residential group home for adolescents ages 12–19.
Alongside teaching, Gibbons maintains a private practice serving individuals age 15 and up. Her clinical specialties include trauma, attachment, and adolescent mental health and development.
Gibbons also serves as a clinical trainer with Families for Depression Awareness to provide workshops and trainings in the community regarding family stress and teen depression, and with City Year Boston to provide training about trauma's impact on learning.
