Shengang Wang earned his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s School of Information Studies and joined SLIS in Fall 2025. His research focuses on the information behaviors and needs of vulnerable populations, particularly sexual and gender minorities, people with disabilities, and individuals with chronic conditions. Using mixed-methods approaches — including qualitative, quantitative, and digital ethnography — he examines how people seek, share, and engage with information in online and community contexts, with the goal of advancing information behavior research and promoting equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
