Graduate Student Commencement Celebrations

We are pleased to offer three special Graduate Commencement Celebrations to celebrate the accomplishments of Doctoral and Master's students completing their degree requirements.

Note that each event has a deadline for registration.  See the individual event pages linked at the bottom of this page for details.

Doctoral Hooding Ceremonies

Each doctoral candidate is individually recognized for their accomplishments and draped with a hood by their respective program director. The ceremony also includes a faculty and student speech, and concludes with a reception and social in the University Fens Cafe.

Graduate Affinity Brunch and Celebration

The graduate affinity brunch celebrates the accomplishments of graduating master’s, PhD, and doctoral candidates. Graduates are invited to dress in regalia and are welcome to wear identity-based stoles. In addition, graduates will receive a complimentary multicultural rainbow cord to wear at Commencement, representing the rich tapestry of cultures, identities, beliefs, values, traditions, and life experiences that combine to form our vibrant Simmons community.

The Graduate Affinity Breakfast & Celebration is sponsored by the Division of Student Engagement, Success, and Diversity, ODEI, and the Provost's Office.

All Programs Master's Reception

The Master's Reception celebrates the achievements of graduating Master's degree students across all disciplines and brings students and faculty together for a champagne toast, hors d'oeuvres, and networking.

The Master's Reception is sponsored by The Division of Student Engagement and the Provost's Office.
