Ordering Visitor Tickets

The garage uses a ticket entry/exit gate system for visitors. Exit tickets, distributed by the department visited, will allow authorized visitors to pay the current daily visitor rate or receive complimentary parking in certain circumstances. Upon exiting the garage, the parker will scan their entry ticket they pulled to come into the garage, then the discount or complimentary ticket

Visitor and Event Requests

Limited visitor and event parking is available in the garage for university-related business. Departments must request parking for visitors and events in advance through the Parking Coordinator assigned to their area by submitting an online request to the parking office. Only Simmons University staff with budgetary discretion should order tickets

General Use Requests: General use tickets can be used for individuals visiting the university for business related reasons or events that require less than 5 parking tickets. Current Simmons employees and students are not eligible to receive visitor parking. Employees and students with occasional parking needs must set up a parking account with the parking office in order to park on campus. General use tickets expire on the last day of the fiscal year.

Orders of 5 or more tickets at any one time must be requested at least two weeks prior to the event date. Requests will be processed within three to four business days. Spaces will be allocated based on availability and may not equal the requested amount. Parking requests may not be approved during peak times of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9:00am and 3:00pm. Peak hours are subject to change. Event tickets expire at the end of the event and cannot be used at a further date.

Visitors and event attendees should not be told that parking is available until the parking office has approved the parking request. Due to space limitations, not all requests can be accommodated. Please note that if the garage is full when your visitors arrive, they will be directed to park off-campus at their own expense.

Parking Validation System for Visitors

Visitors must enter the garage by pulling an entry ticket. At the appointment/event, the host department must provide visitors with instructions for exiting the garage and one of the following exit tickets:

  • Discount Tickets allow the visitor to exit the garage at the Simmons daily visitor rate.
  • Complimentary Tickets allow the visitor to exit the garage at no cost to the visitor.

Upon exit, visitors scan the entry ticket (white) and then their exit ticket (blue or yellow) at the paystations or at the exit gate. Payment is by credit card or debit card (Visa/ Mastercard/ Discovery/ American Express). . Visitors who lose their entry ticket will be charged the maximum daily public rate of $34.00. Max rate is subject to change.

Complimentary tickets are billed back monthly at a rate of $15 per ticket used. The budget number is not charged for unused tickets. Simmons employees are not allowed to use complimentary tickets at any time.

Admission Tours

If you are coming to campus for an admission tour or an information session your parking will be free of charge and validated by our admissions office.

Family of Current Simmons Students

When visiting your student at Simmons, you must obtain a visitor ticket from Residential Life before your visit. We recommend that your student obtain the ticket ahead of your visit to campus.
