Danisa Bonacic

Associate Professor

Professor Danisa Bonacic is the Program Director of the Spanish major and minor and the Spanish language program at Simmons University.

Dr. Bonacic received her BA in Literature and Linguistics and her MA from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She received her PhD from Brown University, specializing in Contemporary Latin American Literature. Dr. Bonacic joined Simmons in 2007. Since then, she has taught elementary, intermediate, and advanced Spanish courses. She is passionate about incorporating literature, history, and cultural issues from different regions of Latin America in her courses.

Professor Bonacic's scholarship examines social issues in literature from Argentina and Chile at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. She has published articles about Diamela Eltit, César Aira, Mario Bellatin, and other writers from South America.
