Philip Chase

Adjunct Faculty

With over 35 years of experience as a behavior analyst, Philip N. Chase has published basic research on novelty, language, rule-governance, and stimulus control. He also has written extensively about creating and evaluating instruction for students and employees. Chase has been active as an editor and reviewer, including a three-year stint as Editor of The Behavior Analyst. Chase received a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Italy, a Benedum Distinguished Scholar Award from West Virginia University, and an Outstanding Mentor Award from the Association for Behavior Analysis International. He has previously worked for St. Cloud State University, West Virginia University, the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Chase conducts research on improving the effectiveness of distance learning, specifically integrating best practices for instruction with the accessibility of online information.

He is the father of two daughters and the grandfather of two girls and two boys.
