Bridge Program
The Multicultural Center Summer Bridge Pilot is a free summer transition program, offering incoming undergraduate first-year students who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), an opportunity to participate, connect, learn, and grow with the Simmons community. Participants get a head start in their college journey, build a support system, and gain essential skills that facilitate their transition and success at Simmons.

The Simmons Multicultural Bridge Program entails two components, the summer experience and the beyond experience. The summer experience provides students of color a two and a half day experience, including space to connect, learn, and identify key supports on campus.
The beyond component extends throughout the academic year filled with continued communal connections (from both academic affairs and student affairs), social and educational programming (residential and non-residential) and workshop/leadership opportunities.
Our overarching goal is to contribute to and grow bridge experiences for incoming Simmons students from identified marginalized populations.
