Mission and Vision

Mission

SLIS educates and empowers the next generation of librarians, archivists, and other information professionals. With a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, we ground students in the history and values of our discipline, encourage them to critically examine the current state of our profession, and prepare them to lead the way toward a more just future through innovation and creativity.
