Graduate Student Research and Conference Awards
The Division of Student Engagement, Success, and Diversity (SESD) provides funding to graduate students seeking to enrich their scholarly interests and professional development through independent research, creative endeavors, and participation in national or international conferences.
Graduate Student Research Fund
The Graduate Student Research Fund is a competitive, merit-based award that provides up to $1,000 to Doctoral and Master’s students conducting independent research or pursuing an artistic endeavor that advances their disciplinary field and/or professional goals.
Currently enrolled Doctoral and Master’s students across all disciplines may apply. This award may not be used to support enrollment in language study, established institutional research programs, or study-abroad programs. In addition, this award may not be used to fund internships or participation in volunteer activities.
Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year will be accepted until November 11, 2024. A complete application includes a project proposal, budget justification, and a letter of endorsement from a faculty advisor.

Graduate Student Conference Fund
The Graduate Student Conference Fund provides up to $500 to Doctoral and Master’s students to participate in an academic or professional conference. Preference will be given to candidates who are presenting at a conference. In cases where the applicant will not be presenting, the proposal and faculty letter of endorsement should address the importance of attendance for the student's professional development.
Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year are accepted on a rolling basis for as long as funds are available. A complete application includes a project proposal, budget justification, and a letter of endorsement from a faculty advisor.
