Internships Abroad

Internships Abroad offer Simmons students an opportunity to gain professional skills to prepare for our increasingly connected world.

Students may intern abroad, as part of an academic semester abroad or as a standalone, credit-bearing summer experience on a program offered by one of Simmons’ Study Abroad partners.

Several of the programs on Simmons approved semester study abroad list offer internships for credit as part of a full-time academic semester, more information is available at the link below:

Europe

Prague, Czech Republic (USAC)
Placements available in Business, Digital Marketing and Social Media Management, Grant-Writing and Crowdfunding, International Relations, Journalism and Communications, NGO and Social Services, Research- Humanities and Social Sciences

Granada, Spain (GRIIS)
For students with a high level of Spanish internships may be available in fields such as education, law, politics, international relations, health care, and other fields.

Madrid, Spain (USAC)
Internships available in Arts & Culture, Digital Marketing and Social Media Management and Journalism and Communications.

Africa

Cameroon: Development and Social Change (SIT Study Abroad)
Cameroon provides an excellent setting in which to study mainstream development at plan and the transitions that occur as society gets increasingly integrated into modern lifestyles. This internship experience is intended to place students in organizations at the center of this transition, as a way to enable them to appreciate the drivers and goals of mainstream development practice and how they have been structured.

Kenya- Global Health and Human Rights (SIT Study Abroad)
Four-week internship with a national, international, or local public health delivery organization based in Kenya.

Madagascar- Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management (SIT Study Abroad)
Students gain valuable work experience and enhance their professional skills in an international work environment, drawing on the wide network of community organizations, activists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and academics connected to the program.

South Africa- Multiculturalism and Human Rights (SIT Study Abroad)
Four-week internship with a local community organization, research organization, business, or international NGO. 

Latin America

Heredia, Costa Rica(USAC)
All internships require four semesters of college-level Spanish or equivalent. Internships available in English-Language Instruction, Health and Wellness and Journalism and Communications.
