Street Team
Interested in volunteering during Move-In Days? Join the Street Team!
Street Team is a group of upper-level students who welcome new students and their families to campus and help them move into their residence hall. We help new students get to know our university community prior to the start of classes, helping them feel grounded, welcomed, and like they belong.
What does Street Team Do?
We help by unloading cars, carrying belongings, passing out water, giving directions, and answering questions about life at Simmons University. As a part of Street Team, you will meet the incoming students, make new campus connections, learn more about campus resources, and work with highly motivated students, faculty, and staff.
Volunteer for Street Team
Special shirts are provided for Street Team. We ask that you share your preferred shirt size on the volunteer form. If you are a Student Athlete and are participating with your team, we ask that you wear your gear to show off your spirit, but you will still be provided a Street Team shirt as a thank you.
Please sign up by the deadline listed on the important dates page.
Please Note: If you are signing up to volunteer with Street Team, you do not need to sign up for an arrival time on Move-In Day.
Benefits of being a Street Team volunteer
You can move back to campus early (free of charge). See the important dates page for the early move-in dates.
If you are already slated to arrive early for another reason and are paying for your stay, you will get a discount for your early arrival stay.
Requirements and Responsibilities
Must participate in 2 shifts, one each day of move-in, unless you are an athlete with a scheduled athletic conflict.

Available time blocks
- First-year and Transfer Student Move-In Day: 7:30 am - 12:15 pm or 11:30 am - 3:45 pm
- Upper-level Student Move-In Day: 7:30 am - 12:15 pm or 11:30 am - 4:15 pm
Mandatory Street Team Training
